Prolefeed Studios director Brian Standing has been producing documentary videos in Madison, Wisconsin for over a decade. Creative Dissent takes the best of his short works, all previously only available online, and presents them in their full-resolution, DVD glory. Brian has this to say about Madison, his adopted hometown, and the setting for nearly all the works on Creative Dissent:

"Former Wisconsin governor, Lee Dreyfus, famously described Madison, Wisconsin as '30 square miles surrounded by reality.' Rather than taking Dreyfus' comment as an insult, Madisonians wear it as a badge of honor. I moved to Madison in 1997, and quickly became captivated by its politically unorthodox, endlessly creative residents. This compilation of short films celebrates a rich tradition of protest, street theater, poetry, art, music and satire. It is dedicated to all who seek to improve the imperfect reality that surrounds them."
